Bond Indices – A flexible investment in fixed-income securities
Fixed income indices are key barometers for the development of different bond market segments and serve bond fund managers as benchmarks for their portfolios. They serve as both an underlying for derivatives and structured products, and as a benchmark for fund and portfolio managers. We have developed a series of fixed income indices in order to address the information requirements of market participants.
In terms of outstanding nominal value, the German bond market is the third largest in the world. Deutsche Börse calculates a series of bond indices for this important market, including the tradable eb.rexx and EUROGOV families.
Each bond index is based on a portfolio of bonds, which are included in the portfolio on the basis of their market capitalization, i.e. the current price multiplied by the normal issue volume.
